This frame developed from our interest in the epigraphic bands of the Alhambra, particularly the Nasrid motto wa la ghaliba illa Allah (“There is no victor but God”). Rather than placing the inscription onto the frame, we worked to allow it to become the structure itself.

The oval form allows the text to resolve as a continuous circuit, without interruption or directional break. The script becomes part of an interconnected network of vegetal and geometric elements, each contributing to the stability of the whole.

What begins as inscription gradually takes on a structural role, and the frame resolves as a continuous ring in which language, pattern, and construction are brought into alignment.
