In its rectangular form, the Arabesque or the so-called “U type” design remains closest to the architectural discipline that first brought us to Stanford White. The geometry provides a stable field in which the ornamental language can unfold with clarity, cadence, and measured variation. This edition allowed us to develop the full relation between piercing and structure within a more classically stable outline. The rectangle gives the ornament a certain authority, while the pierced passages relieve it of heaviness and allow the frame to breathe. What emerges is a work that carries substantial historical resonance yet remains wholly contemporary in its precision, finish, and material presence.
